PSI Careers Universities Committee is looking for two new members. The successful candidates will help develop further links with universities (through our university contacts) and students (via the PSI student membership and university contacts), publicise careers in medical statistics and the medical statistics apprenticeship. The committee is particularly keen to reach students early in their undergraduate degrees who may not be aware of medical statistics as a career. We are particularly keen to reach students early in their undergraduate degrees who may not be aware of medical statistics as a career.
The PSI Careers Universities committee has recently restructured into two subteams:
• The Events team who are responsible for organizing student events – primarily the annual in-person PSI Careers Event, and also the MEDMathS webinar.
• The Outreach team who currently organize other activities such as the student newsletter, undergraduate prizes, and placement opportunities. They would like to expand some of these activities to try and reach more students – including via social media but would need more volunteers for this. There are at least 2 openings, with one as the possible lead for the outreach team.
Number of vacant positions: Two
Approx. commitment: 4 hours per month (approx. 1 hour per week)
